the eagle has landed
we inseminated today.
i gave the little sperm some motivational words and then told the egg that it better be there ready to be a willing recipient.
i'm sure it is a little different for straight couples who get pregnant. i can only guess that straight people don't have so much $, driving and people involved. i can also only imagine that straight people don't get to look at the little swimmers through a microscope like i got to.
how boring it must be for them.
now we get to wait 2 weeks to know the results. waiting does suck.

are we ready to impregnate?
My work is a good hour and a half from the gyno. This means that I have been preparing for a week to get my Wed. afternoon as free as possible to be there for the insemination this time. That is, if Lois ovulates tomorrow.
Apparently, the test she took today is "inconclusive". I'm not exactly sure what that means, but she will probably hang onto it so I can inspect it when I get home.
"Is that line dark enough?"
I am still praying that it is tomorrow since I would like the be there for this. Even if I still have closings to do both before and after, I will be there.
I should be there when my kid is conceived, right?

moving forward again
Lois had the doctor’s appointment on Friday. I called her as soon as I could and she immediately went into detail about how good the doctor looked with some type of negligee thing as a shirt with a suit jacket. (I might have mentioned before that we pick doctors based on their looks – and their reputation, of course)
I had to lead Lois back to the point of the visit and our biggest concern.
“But what did she SAY?”
I didn’t care what she was wearing because I wasn’t there to see it.
“Oh yeah, she said everything looks great and we can start trying to get pregnant again. Are you understanding the outfit?”
I am working on keeping Lois focused, but the big point of all of this is that we can try again!!!
Dare I even say the end of this month?!?!

tomorrow
tomorrow is the big day.
well, one of the big days that gets us closer to potential parenthood.
tomorrow, lois has a doctor appointment to have some test done to see if we have the "all engines a-go" to start trying the pregnancy thing again.
we're keeping our fingers crossed.

ovulation....wahoo!
It happened!
Lois is ovulating!
Now it is more of a reality.
If everything turns out ok at her doctor’s visit before Thanksgiving, we can start trying in a month!
I keep telling Lois that November will go by fast and we need to not will it to go by any faster.
We are going to California for a week on Saturday, we will hopefully be closing on our condo this month and we have Thanksgiving to worry about. That’s enough to keep us busy.
Once we have a screaming baby keeping us up every night, we will think back to this time when it was just the two of us and we were so anxious to speed up time.
